Ebbw Fawr in National Cup Final

Ebbw Fawr Learning Community’s U16 rugby team are a week away from appearing at the Millennium Stadium in the final of the Welsh Schools Cup.

In a thrilling semi-final Ebbw Fawr defeated St Cenydd by 22-9.  The team produced a remarkable team performance with every Ebbw Fawr player displaying outstanding commitment and courage against a very organised and physical St Cenydd team who defended superbly throughout the game despite Ebbw Fawr having the majority of territory and possession. The team were once again led superbly by captain Curtis Gregory who displayed an unbelievable work rate for his team, special mention must also go to Sonny Davies of Year 10 who made an fantastic debut for Year 11 due to the unfortunate injury to Joel Harries against Gwendraeth Comprehensive last Friday.

The try scorers for Ebbw Fawr were Nic Malnati, Dawydd Rabasniak and Dale Price who also kicked two conversions and a penalty. The students have represented Ebbw Fawr superbly both on and off the field and now look forward to what will be a fantastic day at the in the final against Whitchurch High School.
