Ebbw Fawr opens town centre office

Ebbw Fawr Learning Community has taken its outreach work with parents to a new level by opening a town centre office on a weekly basis. The Chat@EFLC initiative is part of the school’s work to engage with parents to help their child’s learning needs. Staff from the school are available every Friday afternoon in the town centre on a drop in basis and can answer questions from the full age range of the school . One of the first visitors was Nick Smith MP who has given his wholehearted support to the school. Mr Smith said

“I know how hard the school is trying to develop its links with parents; this is a smashing idea and places the school at the heart of its community”

Ebbw Fawr’s Assistant Director Anthony Ager said

“There are times when parents find it hard to get into school to talk to us so we thought we would go to them – it’s a simple idea but surprisingly one that we have not seen happen elsewhere”

We encourage parents to visit the drop in centre with any concerns that they may have. They will be welcomed to a friendly, informal environment where staff will be on hand to discuss any specific issues or simply provide information and advice on all aspects of the school and the support that is offered to both pupils and families at Ebbw Fawr Learning Community.
