The Year 7 Football team progressed into the next round of the Welsh Cup with an emphatic 5-1 victory over Oakdale Comprehensive School.
Leading 3-0 at half time thanks to goals from Eli King (2) and Nathaniel Williams and playing some fine attacking football, the boys then went 4-0 up soon after the break with Eli King completing his hatrick.
The goal sparked a number of Ebbw Fawr substitutions and as expected the performance then became a little disjointed.
However, Matthew Jones went on to add a fifth goal, before a mix up at the back allowed Oakdale a late consolation with the last kick of the game.
The team will now go on to play Blackwood Comprehensive in the next round.
There have been no less than 35 boys playing some part in the games so far, and in reality we could field at least three teams every week.
