Ebbw Fawr Learning Community’s U-16 Rugby squad have progressed to the semi-finals of the Welsh Schools National U16 Cup competition following an outstanding performance defeating Gwendraeth School of Llanelli 7-3 in the quarter finals.
Playing away in horrendous conditions the team produced a typical Ebbw Fawr performance in a tight encounter. The only try of the match was scored by inside centre Dayle Price who also kicked a conversion.
The Year 11 squad should all be congratulated for producing a fantastic team effort against such high quality opposition as Gwendraeth School. They will now play Coedcae Comprehensive School, another school from West Wales at a neutral venue in Bridgend next Thursday with the winners rewarded with a place in the final at the Millennium Stadium
