ELSA

Emotional Literacy Support Assistant

ELSA was designed to build the capacity of schools to support the emotional needs of their pupils from within their own resources. It recognises that children learn better and are happier in school if their emotional needs are also addressed. ELSA is initiative developed and supported by educational psychologists who apply psychological knowledge of children’s social and emotional development to particular areas of need and to specific casework.

At Ebbw Fawr we have a wellbeing team comprising of Miss Williams, Miss Morgan and Miss Hughes who work closely together to support pupils. We run ELSA every afternoon for pupils of all ages. We have two qualified emotional and social literacy assistants, Miss Morgan and Miss Hughes.

If you feel your child needs ELSA or you would like to find out more about the programme, contact Emily Williams (Family Engagement Officer) on 07805 658 938.
