GCSE Drama does not just develop a person’s appreciation and understanding of the subject, but it also develops a persons social and communication skills needed in the wider world.
Performing Arts at Ebbw Fawr encourages all students throughout both phases to participate in whole school productions. For the past few years, we have worked closely with our Primary Phase students and Coleg Gwent to create outstanding productions for the wider community, such productions include Les Misérables, Under Milk Wood and Grease the Musical.
Drama is taken by nearly all students at Key Stage 3. At Key Stage 4, we offer students as part of their option choices to choose Drama as a GCSE.
The Performing Arts department has access to a wealth of school resources, including a dedicated suite of iMac Computers, Laptops, Chromebooks, DMX lighting rigs, musical instruments, props and theatre stage.
Pupils utilise a variety of these resources within their structured lessons, to help develop their ICT competency skills through the use of Performing Arts.
