We’ve got a very busy half term ahead of us, so I thought I’d give you an overview of what’s going on. Please find below a list of key dates and lots of information about the events happening in the last half term of Year 10!
Firstly, before the end of the half term, the GCSE English Literature re-sit paper is on Wednesday 25th May @ 9am. There will be a revision session on Tuesday afternoon (24th) until 4pm and a last-minute boost on Wednesday morning (25th) from 8am! Good luck to all those sitting this exam.
Over half term there are 2 revision sessions for the upcoming GCSE Science exams. On Monday May 30th, there’s revision for Year 10 Double and Triple Award Science for Biology/Chemistry/Physics. This will run from 9.30am – 11.30am in room 034. On Tuesday May 31st, there’s revision for Year 10 Chemistry from 10am-12pm in room 153.
After half term are the GCSE Science exams on the 15th, 17th and 20th June. These exams make up approx. 45% of their final GCSE grade so are very important! Details in the box below:

After the Science exams, there will be a Year 10 mock exam period, running from Tuesday 21st June to Thursday 30th June. Timetables will be sent out shortly.
There will also be a possibility of attending Coleg Gwent taster sessions from Monday 27th June – Thursday 30th June, alongside the mock exams. Students will be provided further information on the options available, but there will be A level courses and BTEC courses to choose from.
On Friday 1st July, we’ve been invited to Cardiff City Stadium to attend the University and Apprenticeship Search Fair. The event is billed as a great opportunity for students to gain face to face higher education and careers advice, where there will be an array of exhibiting universities, apprenticeship providers and local colleges. Should be a good day!
The Year 10 school trip will be running to Oakwood Theme Park on Tuesday 5th July 2022. A letter with further details will be sent out shortly.
